this is totally awesome, and I am struck by the pen. I am more determined than ever now to share my story. It has been a dream since a young girl, only then I didn’t have a clue what my story would be. I’ve spent the last 10 years, with only one dream that kept me alive, and that is to tell my story. Thanks for the encouragement, finally !!!! someone feels the same way I do.

Yes, we all have stories and i have a whopper but I can seam to get it to come out of me.
I will probably die with it in me . As I live and breathe I have seen one thing in life. We don’t love each other . We are too concerned with race . And a particular race stands out as a leader while others suffer inside and die. we die little deaths each day and eventually it takes it toll.
Keep your stories coming for it gives me life

My favorite quote is the one by Maya Angelou. Iit resonated with me today because of an experience that I shared on yesterday. A young lady shared her story of having been abused by a fam,ily member. She told her story to make it let go the hold it had on her because it was a story that had not been told. It was a secret that jhurt to hold inside. She wanted to move beyond the bars and cahins that the story that held her captive. She was determined to pursue her future goals without the weight and burden of her ubtold story. She wanted to lighten her load and move faster toward her ndreams. Her untold story would be untold no more and the sharing or telling of the story had a freeing and healing impact on her and others ( though they remain nameless to me and perhaps to her).

[Reply]

Chris Cade

Chris Cade Reply:

Yes, the Maya Angelou quote seems to be a favorite one – perhaps because it’s one we can all relate to… we have stories… we have stories that want to be heard… and we have fears and doubts about whether we can tell them, whether we should tell them, whether it will hurt to tell them.

And yet, the stories themselves yearn to be heard – as though they have a life of their own.

Thank you for continuing to share here! Your words matter, and they serve as inspiration to others that they can share as well.

Our lives are ruled by impermanence. But simply realizing that changes nothing. There is no value in bleak pessimism. The challenge is how to create something of enduring value within the context of our impermanent lives. The Lotus Sutra teaches us how to do this.

Chris,

Great Job with the video! We all have stories we just have to be able to see them, create them, and be grateful for them. This is where meditation has helped me tremendously. These stories are a blessing and some of us don’t realize that until they are gone. You have to live for the moment to see some of these and plant seeds in your mind for future stories. They do come true if you focus your thoughts on them frequently.

Okay, this is getting freaky for me (in a good way). Many people tell me I have to write a book. A friend said nobody she knows expeiences as extreme (both “good” and “bad”). I’ve been in countless private planes, limos, etc. had extreme wealth via self and boyfriends…then gone the opposite. Have met Jerry Garcia, Matt Damon, Robert Plant…the list goes on. Also, survived a serial killer, 9 rape attempts, parental suicide, kidnapping. Also, mystical expeiences which I won’t go into here. An energy worker a couple weeks ago kept seeing an image of a quill pen and said she kept getting the impression I should be writing. I just quit my job and feel like I should now do something with the thousands of pages of notes but I seem to get overwhelmed before I start. Sometimes a voice inside leaves the impression/message “these experiences you’ve had were not just for you.” Hmmmmmmmm?

1024Cinderella – I know the feeling about ‘the signs are everywhere’ (one of my favorite quotes from Fools Rush In). :)

Every famous author started where you are. Zero words on a piece of paper, and some ideas. And they all started by just writing their first words, their first sentences, until eventually they had a book.

I have heard (not verified) that Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin with only 10 minutes per day in between caring for her several children.

Sometimes all we need to do is start writing something / anything, and then the miracles happen. What you write first may not be what you publish; however, it will get you in the experience of writing.

And by the way, if you haven’t already read the “Overcoming Doubts and Fears” PDF on this blog (look at the link above called ‘Doubts and Fears’) then definitely check that out!

Thank You Chris,

For coming into my life. Quotes were all awesome and inspiring. The quote that is relevant to me right now is “What I’ve started, I must finish. I’ve gone too far to turn back. Regardless of what may happen, I have to go forward.”

I have been given an assignment in 1964 after a near-death experience. (before U and most people were born I am sure LOL!.) Since then, I have been given astonishing lucid visions with divine, archetypal messages like climbing Jacob’s Ladder. Each step is a story which is different from my personal dream . In one personal dream, I was shown an angel who tossed a book at me. Angel reminded this book is for those whose ‘eyes can see and ears can hear’. Later, another dream showed me struggling with my head afloat above water (subconscious and collective unconscious) in the deep sea. Yes, trying to keep sane with 2 books in hand. I finally reach shore. People who grabbed the books responded excitedly, “this is the book I’ve been waiting for’ and ‘this is the best book.” (Best book and story is deep within us all.)

I have stored endless stories in my computer, but never published them as I had other priorities. Finally retired, I observed people were turning on computers and having little time to read. So, I have been working on storytelling in I Web format for a year and half with computer mentors. Since March, I’ve been more than frustrated with serial wipe outs of my revisions. Thought everything was being backed up by Mobile me. Bought another hard drive. In short time, that was damaged and turned for repair on mainland. Faced with chaos again, I was feeling, very frustrated and ready to commit ‘hara’ kiri’, but kept moving on and bought another HD. Ugh! I wallowed in the luxury of grieving and letting go.

Faced with chaos, I am compelled to re-create something new to bring order, harmony, beauty and peace personally. This is similar to the global chaos process we are experiencing. Time is short. I have just a few months to be ready for 2012. So, “What I’ve started, I must finish. I’ve gone too far to turn back. Regardless of what may happen, I have to go forward.” For you and this quote, I am so grateful.

This video expresses my thoughts and feelings and sincere wishes for everyone on Earth to experience indepths and insights never before achieved especially more so that begun with my mother’s death. What followed are endless series of betrayals from my only sibling, older half brother and relatives who used Audism to their advantages which corrupted my hometown’s legal system successfully to this day since 1994. I turned to God 100% right after my mother died. Battling Audism Regime Ruling System became another story of my life, involving the politics, the Constitutional Rights and Humane Rights Struggle for 15 long years of my life. This video says everything I applied to my coping skills. As hard as it was, doing the Right way with God on my side and Jesus as my co pilot, my victories were profound and worth fighting for. Audism is as strong as it was since History began. We are beating the Audistic Ruling System because with God, all things are possible!

Hi Chris,
Thank you for this beautiful, thought provoking video. Thank you for your books about writing your story. Our stories are so important that we create pain in our bodies if we hide them, keep them secret or think they are unimportant so they go untold. Somata Emotional Release therapy(SER),created by Dr.Upledger, very simply, is based on accessing the emotion or “story” being held in the painful knot in the muscle or organ. By holding with your hands a painful place on the body, tuning into it, asking questions about it and then allowing the story to be told as the muscle releases simultaneously. This technique has been known to cure many ills.
We have so many wonderful things around us to be thankful for in this world. When I am feeling depressed I make a list of all that for which I am grateful and thankful. I go volunteer and give of myself. There is no greater gift that you can get, than the gift that you give of yourself. All things in moderation does seem to be the key to good health and happiness. Thank you for your generosity in creating this site where we can be inspired and hopefully inspire others. Blessings for a prosperous and fulfilling New Year to everyone, Connie

I thought your video was very beautiful with the music, the images and some of the messages… however … when a person has a story especially one of hurt, loss, or discouragement… it’s best to rid ones self of it. Dr Wayne Dyer has said…”When you get rid of your story… you have nothing to live up to”… example; If you lose a love one… and go through your life living in the memory of that person… you can’t move one to live in today… or if a person was business executive making lots of money and then losses their job … instead of trying to start a new life… they live in the pass morning over their loss… Living in ones passion and not their story enables them to achieve their goals and souls desire…

Very inspiring. It rouses the spirit to encourage one to open up and tell one’s stories which I am sure are numerous in one’s life. The video is brilliant especially the background scenery.Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this video! Even if you try and fail, you must try again, and again, until you succeed. Only then will you find the drive and determination to persevere to overcome the hurdles in your path. I am learning this slowly, but with the inspiration I just viewed, I am reinspired to make it happen, for my goals, and for my life story! Thank you for showing me the way.

Thanks Chris,

I loved the movie and most of all Victor Frankle’s quote.
